Rod Winston began his career opening for two DJ legendsin New Jersey, DJ Gank and Grandmaster DJ T in the early80’s. He quickly became a popular house party DJ in NewJersey/New York City area. After hosting local house partiesand winning some DJ battles he landed a few local clubappearances in the late 80’s around New Jersey. T his ledhim to landing a resident position in Newark, NJ famousClub Z anzibar in 1989-90 opening up for the worldrenowned DJ and Producer Tony Humphries. This positionlasted 2 years until the Z anzibar closed its doors. While atClub Z anzibar, the Saturday night dance party hosted over5000 guests each week and became the First Dance Partyin the North Jersey area to be broadcasted live on SummitCommunications 98.7 WRKS Kiss FM hosted by “TheQueen
