Jason Hersco

Canadian producer Jason Hersco brings a unique sophistication to dance music, employing jazz and funk samples and arrangements to carve out a niche between deep house, tech house, and lo-fi house genres. Montreal-born but now based in Toronto, Hersco first displayed his musical talents as a guitarist. His transformation into electronic music producer began as a result of house parties he and his roommate would throw while attending college. "There's this kind of energy when you're DJ'ing a good set that brings everyone together," he recalls. "It's a great feeling." Learning how to use Ableton and attending EDM shows at Montreal's iconic New City Gas sealed the deal. While he first started releasing his own works independently in 2020, Hersco has since released tracks on more than 20 labels, including Bass Box,
